A careful overview of how authorized insurance professionals can use LAD to review information and manage brokerage records. Vol. 01 · MAY 2026

How LAD Supports Brokerage Work

The exact process depends on the producer, carrier, product, state, and client. This overview describes the intended operating sequence; it does not promise carrier access, automation, approval, timing, or compensation.

Step 01

Review information

Review only rate records that pass the applicable source and freshness checks. Confirm product, state, licensing, and appointment requirements before client use.

Step 02

Create the application

Create the application and keep the relevant details together. Confirm the carrier's required forms, suitability process, and authorized submission channel for the case.

Step 03

Confirm status

Record case status and outstanding requirements in the dashboard. Automated carrier updates vary by integration and carrier.

Step 04

Reconcile records

Record expected and received commission details for reconciliation. Signed schedules and carrier statements remain controlling.

1. Confirm eligibility and source information

Before discussing a product with a client, confirm the producer’s license, training, and appointment as well as the product’s state availability. Product terms and rates must be checked against current carrier materials.

LAD may make MYGA information available for review. If the source cannot be verified as current and complete, the rate view is withheld rather than presented as current. The issuing carrier’s materials control.

2. Create and review the application

An authorized user can create an application and organize the information needed for the next step. The carrier’s required application, suitability documents, replacement forms, disclosures, and submission channel vary by case.

Information in the LAD record must be reviewed before it is copied into carrier materials. A saved record does not mean an application has been transmitted to or received by a carrier.

3. Follow the carrier-confirmed status

Case records can be updated as work progresses. Status labels are operational aids, not carrier decisions. Confirm receipt, outstanding requirements, approval, funding, issue, and in-force status directly from an authorized carrier source.

Where an integration is available, it may reduce manual work. Availability and update timing must be confirmed before relying on it.

4. Reconcile compensation records

LAD can record expected and reported commission information for reconciliation. Final eligibility, amount, timing, chargebacks, and vesting are governed by the executed agreements, applicable schedules, carrier statements, and case facts.

Any discrepancy should be investigated against those primary records before an amount is communicated as payable.

Life insurance

Life insurance cases follow the same steps. Most applications also go through carrier underwriting: the carrier reviews health, financial, and other information about the applicant before deciding whether to offer coverage and on what terms. A quoted premium is not final until the carrier makes that decision.

Before starting an application, confirm the producer’s license and appointment for the product line, the product’s availability in the client’s state, and the carrier’s required forms and submission channel. Ask LAD which life insurance options can be reviewed for the case; availability is confirmed case by case.
